Two of Xiaomi"s cheapest Poco phones from 2022 have been released. The Poco M5 and M5s have just gone on sale in a few European markets as well as in India. Over the coming months, Pakistan is anticipated to receive the two low-cost phones.

Display and Design

The 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen on the Poco M5 boasts a 1080p resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate for quick input. It features the typical Poco design cues, including a sizable main camera island that reaches the phone"s corners and the well-known Poco Yellow colour option. The side-mounted fingerprint reader is located.

Because the Poco M5s is actually a repackaged Redmi Note 10S, it resembles the Redmi Note 10 series of smartphones more. The 6.43-inch 1080p AMOLED display on this phone only has a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it lacks the eye-catching Pocophone colour choices.

Storage and Internals

The M5, for some reason, sports the more recent Helio G99 SoC, the first of its kind to be constructed using a TSMC 6 nm fabrication process. Both phones are powered by MediaTek chipsets.

On the other hand, the Helio G95 SoC, which has been around for two years, is what the M5s uses. On both phones, you may select between 128 GB and 256 GB of storage and 4 to 6 GB of RAM.

Cameras

Both devices will start with Android 12 and MIUI 13 installed.

The Poco M5 features three cameras on the back, while the M5s has four. The M5 has a 50MP primary camera and two 2MP secondary cameras, whereas the M5s has a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and the same pair of 2MP secondary cameras.

The Poco M5 has a 5MP selfie camera, but the M5s has a 13MP sensor with a better resolution.

Pricing and Battery

The 5,000 mAh battery in both phones is the same, but the M5s supports 33W charging while the standard model can only handle 18W.

The Poco M5 starts at just €189, and the M5s is only €209 more expensive.
