Description:
TikTok is working to increase researcher access to information on the company"s contents and moderation processes.
TikTok aims to make it simple for researchers to obtain data and procedures linked to the social media site.
The platform"s infrastructure and moderation mechanism will soon be accessible to researchers, according to a blog post by TikTok COO Vanessa Pappas.
She stated that "chosen researchers" who wish to "evaluate content and trends or conduct tests" will have access to the "public and anonymised" data.
Due to access to its regulation mechanisms and content on TikTok, researchers will be able to evaluate and test out various types of material.
Later this year, the business also intends to open access to its transparency centre, a virtual hub where all policies, adjustments, and updates are made.
To combat "covert influence activities," the firm is implementing significant transparency reforms, which it plans to reveal in its community guidelines implementation reports.
Due of its ties to China, TikTok is working to allay fears that it poses a threat to US national security. Because the company"s parent company, Bytedance, is based in China, news stories and Donald Trump"s charges have put more pressure on it.
