RAWALPINDI: Jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Saturday laid down three conditions for starting talks with the government."The first condition is the dismissal of my case, the second is the release of our party members and the third is the restoration of our mandate," said the former prime minister in an informal conversation with reporters in the courtroom.

Commenting on earlier talks with former Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, he recalled the formation of a three-member committee with Asad Umar, Pervez Khattak and Shah Mehmood Qureshi."Then we were told that the "baray sahab" [big boss] decided not to hold elections," he confirmed. He underscored his party"s complaints about what he called the "February 8 robbery," referring to alleged electoral fraud.He again warned of a hunger strike that would attract international attention if his demands were not met.

Regarding the Supreme Court"s recent verdict on reserved seats, the PTI founder called it a "positive development"."The SC verdict has restored hope among the people," Khan noted and praised the judges for upholding the rule of law.It may be noted here that although the PTI founder had previously refused to engage with the ruling coalition, he had last month announced his willingness to hold talks with political rivals. He appointed Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) president Mahmood Khan Achakzai to lead these efforts.

The Supreme Court on Friday declared PTI eligible for the reserved seats, setting aside a Peshawar High Court order that upheld the Election Commission of Pakistan"s ban on reserving seats for the PTI-backed Suna Ittehad Council (SIC).

He narrated how Shehzad Akbar brought him a signed letter asking him to submit a confidential document to the Cabinet for approval.He said that Akbar carried the note with his signature and informed that the Prime Minister had ordered to send the document to the Cabinet.
