Pakistan and Turkey emphasise the significance of concluding a preferential trade agreement

On the occasion of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif"s visit to Turkey, over 150 Pakistani and Turkish businesses, investors, and traders met in Ankara at the Business to Business (B2B) forum co-hosted by Pakistan"s Ministry of Commerce and the Turkish Ministry of Trade.

The delegation of Pakistani businesspeople, assembled by the Ministry of Trade and Commerce Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), represented sectors with significant export potential to Turkey, including engineering, agro-food, pharmaceuticals, rice, information technology (IT), and textiles, among others.

Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar, who is accompanying the Prime Minister, also met with his Turkish counterpart, Dr. Mehmet Muş, Minister of Trade, and discussed how to increase bilateral trade in proportion to the untapped bilateral potential.

Both sides emphasised the importance of completing the Preferential Trade Agreement in goods as soon as possible, as this would open new opportunity to promote bilateral trade all over various sectors and would be mutually beneficial.
