Sanaullah acknowledges impotence in the rise in oil prices

Description:

claims that if the previous government"s agreements with the IMF had not been carried out, Pakistan may have defaulted like Sri Lanka.

The increase in the price of petroleum goods saddens them, but they can do nothing about it, according to interior minister Rana Sanaullah.

Sanaullah claimed in a TV interview in Faisalabad that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf merely came to power to exact revenge, "they ensnared political opponents in fake cases and took revenge from the public by hiking prices."

The cessation of the subsidy was subject to IMF conditions, according to the interior minister, and Shaukat Tarin signed the deal. If not, "we will be liable for it," he added. The minister stated, "I can produce Shaukat Tarin"s signature on the agreement reached with the IMF," adding that while former prime minister Imran Khan broke the terms of the IMF agreement, they came to power and saved the nation from financial ruin.

He asserted, "Pakistan may have defaulted like Sri Lanka if the previous government"s commitments with the IMF had not been honoured."

The minister stated that while "we are all helpless and extremely upset about the rise in oil prices," the average person is aware of the challenges associated with inflation.

Sanaullah claimed that the three years of poor governance were to blame for the rise in inflation, adding that this would change going forward.

The minister claimed that Imran Khan, who he formerly referred to as Punjab"s top dacoit, was attempting to appoint that individual as chief minister.

He claimed that Imran Khan had stated last night that if he was not restored to power, "he (Imran) will start crying."
