The Green Shirts may end the series Ten points ahead of the West Indies and clinch fourth place if they sweep the three-match One-Day International series. A win for West Indies in either of the final two ODIs, on the other hand, will ensure that they stay ahead of Pakistan and maintain their fourth-place position.
Pakistan will be focused on earning the most points from the match and securing a comfortable place in the ICC ODI World Cup qualification process for 2023. At the end of the ICC World Cup Super League cycle, the top seven teams, including hosts India, will automatically qualify for the major event the following year.
