PSEB Needs Additional Resources to Meet IT Export Goal

In order to meet the Prime Minister"s goal of increasing IT exports, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) must be strengthened in terms of financial and human resources, according to the Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Syed Amin-Ul-Haque.

This was said by him as he presided over the PSEB Board of Directors" 52nd meeting today at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) headquarters.

According to Minister Haque, PSEB has developed a comprehensive IT Export Strategical Framework and is putting it into action by carrying out a number of projects and programmes in the areas of infrastructure development, human resource development, company capacity development, global marketing, strategy, and research, as well as the promotion of innovation and technologies.

He continued by saying that the organisation needed to be strengthened in order to enable Pakistan"s IT sector compete internationally.

Osman Nasir, the managing director of the PSEB, provided the board with an update on the organization"s performance, financial difficulties, upcoming initiatives, and new programmes and initiatives for the promotion of the IT sector.

The meeting participants decided to give the Prime Minister the board"s suggestions and recommendations.

Mohsin Mushtaq Chandna, Additional Secretary (Incharge) MOITT, Additional Secretary Finance, Chairman P@SHA, and the CEO of Pakistan"s Trade Development Authority attended the meeting (TDAP).
