Texas Governor and Ambassador Masood Khan spoke about collaborating in the fields of engineering, agriculture, and petrochemicals.

In a discussion in the Capitol office in Austin, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Pakistani Ambassador to the US Masood Khan discussed developing stronger economic ties, according to a news release on Wednesday.

The two will work closely together in the fields of petrochemicals, agriculture, livestock, renewable energy, the environment, the IT industry, genetic engineering, and semi-conductors.

The governor was invited to come to Pakistan by Ambassador Khan in order to advance business and investment opportunities as well as intercultural dialogue. The governor indicated that he would consider such a visit at a suitable time and accepted the invitation in principle.

According to Khan, the 150,000-strong Pakistani diaspora population in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and St. Antonio is a benefit to both Pakistan and the US because it is fostering relations between the two countries.

In honouring the accomplishments made by Texas under the two-term governor, Ambassador Khan stated that Pakistan was prepared to receive Texan investments in the semi-conductor, agricultural, medical, and IT sectors.

Masood Khan discovered a further connection between Pakistani and Texas agricultural institutes for the study of hybrid seeds to boost crop output.

"The regulatory framework in Pakistan is favourable for US companies to launch businesses in a variety of industries. The ambassador said, "We are eager to collaborate with businesses in Texas. Pakistan has become safe and protected for foreign direct investment (FDI).

The current Houston-Karachi Sister City Association links the two cities" business leaders.

The governor was briefed by the envoy on Pakistan"s amazing startup success in the technology sector, as Texas is quickly rising to the top spot among cyber-states in the United States.

Masood Khan claimed that a business-friendly regulatory environment in Pakistan, a nation of 220 million people with a burgeoning middle class, was fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.

He claimed that Pakistan had the required infrastructure for manufacturing as well as a burgeoning labour force.

Before a high-level visit from Texas, during which decisions may be taken to create joint ventures, corporate leaders in enterprises could collaborate to develop an agenda for economic collaboration, the ambassador continued.
