Tomorrow, Pakistan"s Election Commission (ECP) will make its decision in the long-delayed case of illegal funding against Imran Khan"s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) (Tuesday).

The decision, which was reserved in June of this year, will be announced by a three-member ECP bench at 10am tomorrow, according to Express News, which cited the reason list released on Monday by the highest electoral authority.

The change occurred as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) coalition government"s component parties urged the ECP to render a decision in the case as soon as possible.

In an effort to persuade the ECP to publish its reserved judgement in the PTI-related case concerning banned funding, leaders of the coalition government from the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) met with senior ECP officials on Friday.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the leader of the PML-N and a former prime minister, stated at a news conference after the meeting that the joint delegation had spoken with ECP representatives and requested that they "decide the case of unlawful foreign money as soon as feasible."

He had stated that the "prohibited funding case" had been going on for eight years. According to the election legislation, any funding received by a party from a foreign source must be disclosed.

As a result of suspected code of conduct violations, the PTI later declared that it would file a "judicial reference" against CEC Sikander Sultan Raja and other ECP members.

Imran Khan, the former prime minister and head of the PTI, officially instructed his legal team on Saturday to begin the process of filing a referral against the CEC and ECP members for receiving a delegation from the ruling alliance and discussing the PTI"s case for unlawful fundraising with them.

Akbar S. Babar, a founding member of the PTI, brought the complaint against foreign funding, alleging severe financial irregularities in the PTI"s funding from both Pakistan and overseas.

On January 4 of this year, a report from the ECP scrutiny committee revealed that the PTI had hidden multiple accounts and roughly Rs310 million from the electoral commission between 2008 and 2013.

Additionally, it had stated that during this time, the party had acquired $44,000 from 88 international donations.

In a report, the State Bank of Pakistan mentioned the unreported accounts. The report also contained the scrutiny committee"s evaluation of the bank accounts.
