PTI asks that the audio of Bushra Bibi be put through forensic analysis

Description:

Party officials assert that "those who brought the govt into office" are unlawfully tapping Imran"s home.

Speaking to the press in Islamabad on Monday, PTI leaders Shireen Mazari and Fawad Chaudhry urged a forensic investigation into the tapping of Bushra Bibi"s phone.

On Saturday, a recording of Bushra Bibi purportedly telling the PTI Chairman on Digital Media Dr. Arsalan Khalid to disseminate the "story of treason" surfaced on social media.

Shireen Mazari mentioned the audio recording and asserted that a forensic examination would establish if "it was phoney or real."

The PTI leader added that "according to the Supreme Court judgement, phone tapping is illegal," but gave the impression that the audio snippet was "genuine" while claiming that "the entire discussion has been chopped and pasted."

However, she insisted, before pointing out that "before, a government was overthrown for the same reason," "there is no political issue here."

The prior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) administration"s allegations that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) looking into the Panamagate case had tapped phones and monitored witnesses in 2017, which is against the law and the Constitution, appear to be what the former minister for human rights was alluding to, though she did not make it clear.

Mazari urged the supreme court to take notice of the suspected phone tapping at Imran Khan"s residence, arguing that the actions were a part of a plot to "cover-up" the plot, which the PTI alleges was responsible for the overthrow of Imran Khan"s administration.

She said, "Those who established the current government are doing this." She address the "neutrals" and the existing prime minister, asking, "Why is this happening?

Speaking at the event, Fawad Chaudhry claimed that Pakistan is a country where phones are always being hacked and conversation are being leaked.

Corruption charges against Farah

Fawad, a former minister of communications, advised the government to bring a prosecution against Farah Bibi first because she is the subject of corruption claims.

On Sunday, the administration made known that it intended to issue a red warrant for Farah, a close personal friend of former first lady Bushra Bibi, to be extradited to Pakistan on suspicion of corruption.

Fawad Chaudhry criticised the government, asking "how can warrant be granted when the case hadn"t even been registered?"

Load-shedding

Regarding the issue of continuous load shedding in the nation, Fawad added that the reason for the rise in power outages was because the government lacked the funds to purchase gasoline.

He added, "It has been reported that load shedding will occur even on Eid."

Fawad cited the practises of the current administration, claiming that "they instantly accepted all of the IMF"s [International Monetary Fund] terms yet still were unable to receive the bail-out package."

He asserted that this demonstrated the incapacity of the administration and that the change made by the National Accountability Bureau was really "NRO 2" worth Rs. 1,100 billion.

Additionally, he said that Omni Group had given the previous president Asif Ali Zardari an NRO for Rs. 50 billion.
