Solar Power Plant to Replace Gwadar Coal Power Project

According to The News, the government has decided to forbid the construction of new power plants using foreign fuel, according to Federal Minister for Power Engr. Khurram Dastgir.
According to the federal minister, the nation would look to expand its ability to generate electricity from domestic resources like solar, coal, wind, hydel, etc. He added that the nation"s nuclear power plants would still be built by the government.
Additionally, the government has chosen to replace imported coal in plants using domestic coal. According to Khurram Dastgir, they consist of the Sahiwal power plant, the Port Qasim plant, and the China Hub plant.
The country"s import bill has increased by almost $20 billion over the first 11 months of the fiscal year 2022 due in large part to the programmes, which aim to lower it.
