On September 27, Pakistan sighted the moon for Rabi-ul-Awal, marking the beginning of a new month according to the Islamic lunar calendar.

Muslims all over the world, especially in Pakistan, celebrate the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal as Eid Milad-un-Nabi because it marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). On this occasion, streets across the country are illuminated with colorful lights shortly after the moon is sighted.

In addition, the government, religious organizations, religious committees and the public organize a wide range of events including parades, seminars, conferences and debate programs to commemorate the day.
