Twitter Now Lets You Add Photographs, Videos, and GIFs in One Tweet

Description:

Twitter now lets you take your creativity to the next level. The social media giant now lets you combine photos, videos and GIFs into a single tweet, allowing you to create all sorts of combinations.

The feature is rolling out to the Android and iOS versions of the app and was first spotted by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi in April, suggesting that Twitter has been working on it for some time. The company confirmed it was working on multimedia contributions in July.

You can create your own combinations by tapping on the photo icon in the tweet composer and selecting the medium you want. The selected images or videos will be displayed in a grid format or side by side depending on how many items you select. You can add up to four items in one tweet. The tweet below shows what it looks like.

It"s unclear if this will work for tweets shared outside of Twitter. In some cases, tweets embedded in web pages display only one of the two pieces of content contained in the tweet. This also seems to happen in apps like Slack.

It"s good to see that Twitter is still working on releasing new features despite the Elon Musk acquisition fiasco. Acquisition negotiations have been ongoing for several months. Musk initially offered to acquire the social media company for $44 billion, which Twitter agreed to. But Musk backed out of the deal amid claims that Twitter misrepresented the number of fake and spammy accounts on the platform, a key factor in assessing the company"s overall value.

As a result, Twitter sued the billionaire for backing out of the deal. But recently, Musk again offered to buy the social network, and Twitter shareholders approved the offer
