Qatari Ambassador Inaugurates Mosque in Islamabad Funded by Qatar Charity

Description:

Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar"s Ambassador to Pakistan, recently dedicated a mosque in Islamabad built by Qatar Charity (QC).

He also expressed his delight and acknowledgement for this initiative, and he praised QC"s efforts throughout Pakistan.

The ambassador was accompanied by a delegation from the QC office in Pakistan, and local government officials, diplomats, and members of local humanitarian groups attended the inauguration ceremony.

The masjid is said to be the only one in an advanced residential area, with a capacity of 800 people for praying in a sheltered setting.

Prior to its construction, locals had to travel to distant locations for prayers, and numerous were unable to participate in congregational prayers.

Amin Abdul Rahman, the Director of the QC Office in Pakistan, emphasised the mosque"s religious significance.

Qari Muhammad Fahim, the imam of Omar Ibn al-Khattab Mosque, also expressed gratitude to Qatar"s generous donors and philanthropists who aided in the mosque"s construction.

In other news, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reversed its decision to charge a parking fee at Islamabad"s Faisal Mosque.

Visitors are no longer mandated to pay a parking fee for vehicles, according to an official notice submitted outside the mosque, but it is unclear whether construction companies will follow the decision because they have reportedly contravened it in the past on their own pretext of extracting money from visitors.
