After a Massive Blast, the Fauji Fertilizer Plant is Back Online

Description:

One of the Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) production plants in Sindh that was shut down earlier this month after a huge explosion followed by a fire has reopened.

According to JS Research, FFC plant-III in Mirpur Methelo, a city in the Ghotki district, resumed production last night and is anticipated to achieve maximum capability tomorrow.

To recall, a fire broke out at the FFC Mirpur Mathelo plant site around 11 p.m. on July 3rd, and it was quickly extinguished by implementing safety and emergency procedures (SOP). During the event, no personnel were harmed.

The fire started in the ammonia unit"s gas vessel, according to the preliminary investigation. The plant was quickly shut down to investigate the problem, followed by maintenance work to get the plant back up and running.

It is worth noting that the FFC plant-III unit has a 900,000-tonne annual output capacity.

Any unwarranted or prolonged reinstatement of operations would"ve have impacted 35% of FFC"s production and 15% of national Urea production.
