Description:
As part of Metavisionaries, Pakistani artist Ayesha M Ali set the record on Saturday when she was among the first to launch her sculpture, which is now a part of Orbit X, into space alongside collaborative works from all across the world.
Ayesha, filled with joy, posted about her accomplishment and the project on Facebook. "We created history yesterday! With partners, Metavisionaries launched its first works of art and music into space. So happy that Space X included my space art as a part of this amazing cooperation."
Her artwork is currently aboard a CRS25 rocket of the "Maleth II" for the international space station with ICE Cubes Service and ESA. The artist added that it was "surreal" to see her artwork aboard a rocket with other great painters, where she also had conversations with world leaders about picturing the future.
"It seems surreal to have my multiple space art pieces on board alongside ideas and imagination about the future from amazing thought leaders all over the world. This included the song 21 by Egyptian singer Wegz KR, content from Arts Help, and former NASA chief scientists James Green, Nina Rodrigues, and Anne Marie "She penned a letter.
She went on to explain who Metavisionaries are for those who are unfamiliar with the term "Their mission is to provide communities around the world with access to the space economy and frontier technologies, and they have sent their first pieces of art and music into space. We believe that space exploration can help us address the major issues confronting society today. We can learn new ways to find innovative solutions for the spaceship, planet Earth, by utilising space."
She continued by pointing out how proud she was of the opportunity for artists and creatives like herself to be brought together by universe, for the universe, through scientists and enterprises of the future. She also added that the project shows a multidisciplinary approach.
