The Prime Minister has issued an order to prepare for the rainy season.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked the ministries and departments responsible to inform the provinces and district administrations on Sunday in light of the forecast of above-normal monsoon rains during the last week of this month.
According to a news statement from the Prime Minister"s Office"s Media Wing, the prime minister directed the design of a comprehensive flood strategy in consultation with the provinces.
The prime minister ordered that all preventative measures be taken in accordance with the meteorological department"s forecast, as well as making provisions in low-lying areas and locations that may be affected during the rainy season.
He also requested the prompt delivery of required equipment and other measures to protect crops and animals in agrarian areas. Residents in the impacted areas should be alerted and relocated to safer areas, according to Shehbaz.
Other measures should be done, such as effective disposal, excavation of nullahs and water channels, and fumigation, he noted.
In a statement, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted that the country would get "above-average rainfall" during the forthcoming monsoon season. Pre-monsoon rains are expected to begin in the second week of June, according to the report.
