After a decade in the making, "Sadhay 14 August" will finally launch on this Independence Day

Description:

Anwar Maqsood is making a comeback after ten years with Saadhay 14 August, the third instalment of his renowned trilogy that will complete on Independence Day and have its world premiere on the day Pakistan was established.

The initiative started in 2011 with Pawnay 14 August, which had a good impact on the nation"s theatre scene. Thereafter, a second instalment titled Sawa 14 August followed, and the series didn"t resume for ten years. In order to end with a complete 14 August rather than the slivers of time in the title, the scriptwriter, Maqsood, expressed hope that the nation would experience better days in the future.

"Theatre changed, people changed, and I was here hoping that the nation"s circumstances would get better so that a finished stage play titled "14 August" might be produced, but that didn"t happen. How much longer could I wait at my age? Maqsood stated.

The cutouts of both countries" founding fathers, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Mahatma Gandhi, are displayed on the poster for Saadhay on August 14 along with the outlines of their respective country"s maps. On Instagram, KopyKat Production posted a clip from an interview in which Maqsood is questioned about which of the leader is better in his screenplay and perspective.

They both make excellent leaders. The two will be equal on a scale if you put them side by side. The famed author said, "One half won"t be thicker than the other, especially because they were both skinny like each other. "Saying Gandhi in India for the same reasons will be unfair to Jinnah, and saying Jinnah in Pakistan only to get a round of loud applause from my audience will be unfair to Gandhi, and my pen ends there. However, when it came to what others were saying about these leaders here, my pen didn"t falter or hesitate.

The trilogy"s past successes and Maqsood"s screenplay, along with the nation"s current economic and political unrest, have made the Dawar Mehmood film widely awaited.

We can"t wait to experience the cast"s emotional rollercoaster as they make a snarky and quite accurate commentary on how the leaders imagined the country when fighting for independence and the liberation movement while living in a radically different reality.
