The Pakistan Engineering Council"s (PEC) Innovation & Entrepreneurship Committee (ICE) is planning a national dialogue on eradicating engineering unemployment through entrepreneurial settings.
The "National Dialogue to End Engineer Unemployment Through Entrepreneurial Settings" will be held in Islamabad on July 28-29, 2022.
According to PEC, this event is intended to provide a platform for engineering graduates from all sectors (employed, unemployed, self-employed, and employers). Vice Chairmen from all provinces, such as Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, are being sought for nominations for the event. Following inter-provincial discussions, each group will present provincial suggestions for the issue.
The discussions would culminate in guidelines to be displayed at the closing ceremony in front of all PEC Vice Chairmen, the Chairman, the convener of relevant PEC committees, and the concerned Ministries.
The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Committee will work to design and plan future activities in accordance with the recommendations received at the event"s conclusion, making the committee"s role more important, effective, and owned by all stakeholders.
The event announcement would include policy recommendations and a plan of action to eliminate engineer unemployment while also enhancing their skill set for contribution to national development as major operators of the country"s economic engine.
