Nadia Khan, a star overseas, is about to join the Pakistan women's football team

Description:

Nadia Khan, a football player based in the UK, will soon join the Pakistani women"s national squad as they get ready for the 2017 SAFF Championship in Nepal.

Due to her Pakistani ancestry, Nadia, a player for Doncaster Rovers Belles in the FA Women"s National League Division One Midlands, has reportedly consented to represent Pakistan internationally. Nadia is eligible to be a citizen of Pakistan because both of her parents are citizens of that country.

The player is anticipated to join the team immediately in Nepal, according to sources citing the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), which has confirmed that all of the paperwork related to her national team selection has been resolved.

Maria Khan, a Pakistani footballer who plays in the UAE, was previously recalled by PFF to the national team. Maria has already signed up for the training session that is taking place in Lahore.

As they try to assemble a team that gives them the best chance to win some games, the PFF has also made contact with a number of Pakistani footballers who are currently playing abroad.

The national women"s squad hasn"t competed in an international match in eight years, and with recent years seeing a decline in football activity, the team has a difficult task ahead of it. While the PFF seeks a short-term solution by bringing in foreign players, improving local football at the grassroots level should also be considered as a long-term objective.
