The Single National Curriculum (SNC) will now be known as the Pakistan National Curriculum, per the Federal Education Ministry (PNC).
The word "single" is a cause of misunderstanding and doesn"t reflect the diversity seen in the nation"s educational system, according to Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Education Minister.
As a result, PNC has replaced SNC. Now that PNC is in place, all curriculum and educational reforms will be carried out. Under PNC, significant changes will be made that address all four components of a contemporary curriculum.
Standards, textbooks, teacher preparation programmes, and exam revisions are a few of these components. The last two elements will receive special attention from the PNC because without incorporating them into the educational system, the reforms will not be complete.
Teachers will receive instruction on contemporary standards as part of the reforms to teacher education, enabling them to provide pupils with high-quality instruction. Concept-based interventions will be implemented as part of test reforms to put a stop to rote learning.
At a National Curriculum Workshop organised by the Federal Education Ministry in association with education authorities from all federating units, the Minister made these remarks.
