Umar Akmal revealed in an interview that he was one of the players who refused to accept hefty payments in T20 leagues just for national commitment.
"I"m one of the few Pakistani cricketers who have turned down lucrative T20 league contracts in exchange for a commitment to local cricket."
In response to a question, Akmal said Imran Khan asked Waqar Younis to send him to the 2016 Cricket World Cup at number 3."It"s a common misconception that in the 2016 T20 World Cup, I asked Imran Khan to suggest to team management that I be sent at number three."
