Pakistan has named an 18-man roster for their upcoming Sri Lanka tour. Babar Azam, the national team"s all-format captain, will lead the team, with wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan serving as his deputy.
Surprise choices in the squad include young middle-order hitter Salman Ali Agha and seasoned leg-spinner Yasir Shah. After failing to impress in the series against Australia, Sajid Khan has been pulled from the squad.
The pace attack consists of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Naseem Shah, and Faheem Ashraf, with Nauman Ali and Mohammad Nawaz joining Yasir Shah as spinners.
The three openers are Imam-ul-Haq, Abdullah Shafique, and Shan Masood, with veterans Azhar Ali and Fawad Alam forming the middle order.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are slated to play a two-match Test series in mid-July. The Men in Green will go to Sri Lanka on July 6 before playing a warm-up match on July 11. The first Test match will be contested on July 16 in Galle, followed by the second on July 24 in Colombo.
