Following the national selection committee"s decision to pass him over for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, which will be contested later this month in the UAE, veteran Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has made headlines.
Additionally, there were suspicions that the former captain will eventually call it quits on a more than 20-year international career, but his manager, Arsalan Shah, has dispelled those claims.
Arsalan Shah responded to allegations that Malik was quitting international cricket by saying that the all-rounder is still active and has no intention of leaving the game. In addition, he asked cricket enthusiasts to check the validity of news before spreading misinformation.
It is important to note that the squad for the Asia Cup 2022 was released by the selection committee earlier this month, and his exclusion from the team disappointed his supporters because it was anticipated that he would make the team.
Malik is regarded as one of the most seasoned cricketers in the current lineup and is Pakistan"s third-highest run-scorer in the shortest format. Malik captained the national squad at the 2007 T20 World Cup.
Since making his ODI debut in 1999, Malik has appeared in 446 international games for the Green Shirts, most recently in a T20I series against Bangladesh last year.
