Description:
Neil Nitin Mukesh, a Bollywood actor who began his career with the noir thriller Johnny Gaddaar, argues that the thriller genre is no longer flourishing on unique ideas. The 40-year-old actor slammed Bollywood filmmakers and writers, saying their attention should be on "original ideas and content" rather than"remaking films."
In an interview, the New York actor discussed Bollywood"s love for remakes. Neil stated that Bollywood prefers to play it "safe," adding, "There are many sub-genres, like as thrillers, political thrillers, horror thrillers, and so on." Why aren"t we looking into them? We are still remaking films rather than creating new ideas and material. We have creative ideas in Bollywood, but I believe we prefer to play it safe."
He also revealed how the industry evaluates an actor"s worth only on monetary success. To maintain the defined formula for success, the Saaho actor revealed that he strives to achieve a balance by doing a variety of films. "I feel that in show business, I must be a little more practical and find a balance." The truth is that the overall perception of an actor is founded on his commercial success, not just in our profession but also among the viewers. "While I enjoy working on films like Jail, I will also make comedies like Players and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo," he says.
Neil"s early work includes various thriller productions, including sci-fi thrillers Aa Dekhen Zara, Madhur Bhandarkar"s Jail, and Sudhir Mishra"s Tera Kya Hoga Johnny. However, his big commercial breakthrough came with the 2009 thriller New York, in which he co-starred with John Abraham and Katrina Kaif.
Neil was most recently seen in the 2019 film Bypass Road. After that year, he also starred as a supporting actor in Prabhas" Saaho. He will soon be seen on the big screen in Ankush Bhatt"s delayed feature Firrkie, which also star Kay Kay Menon and Jackie Shroff.
