Description:
Sanjay Dutt plays a cold-hearted antagonist who is called in to restrain Balli, Kapoor"s character, in the movie.
With Karan Malhotra"s next film Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor is making his big-screen comeback. The Aditya Chopra-produced movie, which takes place in the 1800s, follows the story of a former dacoit who becomes a tribe leader. In Shamshera, Kapoor plays a father-son pair in his first-ever dual role.
The three-minute trailer opens with a fearsome Kapoor leading his tribe into battle with the authorities in the fictional city of Kaza in the year 1871.
Then, as Balli, Shamshera"s flamboyant son, we see a younger, angrier Kapoor. Balli, in contrast to his father, is a masked dacoit who robs the wealthy. The movie shows him striving to provide for his people while the wealthy complain about him to the British authorities in a very desi Robin Hood-esque manner.
The officer Shudh Singh, who"s been appointed to control Balli, is then introduced to us in a very fearsome Sanjay Dutt role. In a very remarkable action scene, Dutt and Kapoor engage in a cat and mouse chase.
As an exotic dancer, Vaani Kapoor enters the scene and tells Balli to quit acting in such a worrisome way.
Dutt plays a cold-hearted adversary who is determined to restrain Balli, played by Kapoor, in the film. Kapoor appears in a dual role as Shamshera and Balli toward the end of the trailer.
However, Kapoor admitted he actually had to persuade Chopra to sign him for the aforesaid dual part during a press conference for the just released trailer.
"I wasn"t really offered a double role when the film was described to me. But as soon as I heard the plot, I urged Aditya Chopra and Karan Malhotra to cast me as the father as well because the part was so fantastic. For an actor to play, that would be such a fascinating and spicy role. Then, I had to make a strong case to Adi and Karan, the Tamasha actor informed the media.
He continued, "I suppose Karan conducted a few look tests after that, and that"s when he was convinced, too. So, although it wasn"t first presented to me, it completely grabbed me as an actor. They were two distinct characters, and playing two different roles as an actor like me was challenging.
Ashutosh Rana, Saurabh Shukla, Ronit Roy, Tridha Choudhury, and Pitobash Tripathy are also featured in the July 22 release of Shamshera.
