Alia Bhatt returns with her notorious Gully Boy beautiful girl-turned-street wolf appearance for her debut film, but this time, while she faces a cunning deception, her mother (Shefali Shah) has her back. Darlings, a dark comedy about an unconventional mother-daughter combination, teases several suspense subplots involving murder, passion, vengeance, and inquiry.
It"s only a prank, darlings. Darlings on Netflix is coming on August 5," Bhatt said beside the trailer on her social media. With the caption "Kya ek meindak aur bichhoo dost ho sakte hain?," Costar Shah also shared the image. "(Can a frog and a scorpion be friends?)" the clip"s story is titled.
The lengthy trailer, which is a thriller through and through, starts with Bhatt"s alluring voice recounting the well-known frog and scorpion parable. The images tell the story of Bhatt"s love affair with Vijay Sharma, from their first encounters until their marriage with Shah"s blessing.

The teaser depicts a hurt and bewildered Bhatt, a menacing Sharma, a jealous Roshan Mathew, and a mother-daughter pair at a police department for a murder investigation as the story draws closer to the scorpion showing its true colours.
The actress from Gangubai Kathiawadi is shown in the last frames sporting a red pout and an off-the-shoulder blood red outfit while looking in the mirror and seemed to be planning something vindictive or rebellious.
Vishal Bhardwaj, a filmmaker and composer, created the music soundtrack for the movie, which is directed by rookie Jasmeet K Reen. The movie Darlings, which was co-produced with Shah Rukh Khan"s Red Chillies Entertainment, is Bhatt and the King after Dear Zindagi.
But Bhatt will continue to astonish us this year in other ways. On the work front, she has two films: Ayan Mukherjee"s Brahmastra, starring her husband Ranbir Kapoor, and the Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif-starrer girls travelogue Jee Le Zaraa, both directed by Farhan Akhtar. Alongside Gal Gadot in Heart of Stone, the Gully Boy star is currently filming her Hollywood debut.
